This is Rose Ringed’s fourth release of 2019. With this EP, the artist explores the different structures of left-field house and techno. The opening track "I Had To Leave" starts with a lofi piano melody which formed Rose's inspiration for the entire track. Its typical four-to-the-floor beat including a changing arp progression, emphasizes the dramatic catchphrase "I'm sorry I had to leave".

The second track - I Love - starts with a different type of rhythm than we are used to from Rose Ringed. On top of this, the track evolves to some sort of mythical vibe and finally builds up to a trance-like melody.

The last track - Once Upon a Time - is a relaxed and melancholic song, inspired by Rose's trip to Peru. If you listen carefully, you recognize field recordings of children playing in a fountain. All field recordings were recorded in Peru.

Rose Ringed was born to a music loving father and a jazz ballerina mother, during the early trance rave era of the 90s. Playing the drums led unto learning piano, getting inspiration from what is now the nostalgic sounds of the ambient and early techno parties in Amsterdam.
